In this two-day interactive workshop (from 22nd to 23rd, October), participants will learn to develop classroom assessments for language classrooms.

Conducted by Prof. Sara Cushing - Professor of Applied Linguistics at Georgia State University and Senior Faculty Associate for the Assessment of Student Learning in the Office of Institutional Effectiveness, this workshop will prepare participants to do the following:

  • Distinguish between formative and summative assessment
  • Establish and communicate clear learning goals for your class
  • Select and implement assessment methods that match learning goals
  • Provide useful feedback to students
  • Use assessment results to improve instruction

As a socio-professional organization, VTA is committed to enhancing the quality of English language education in Vietnam through professional development, dissemination of teaching expertise and research and information to support and transform practice, policy in ELT, and community service.   • Carrying out professional development activities for ELT practitioners in Vietnam, including but not limited to an annual VietTESOL international convention, regular workshops, training courses, and webinars to members and non-members, and an open social media site with online teaching resources;

To honor excellence in service to the field and to enable Vietnamese teachers of English living outside of Thua Thien Hue province to attend the Convention, VIC 2019 is now also accepting applications for grants.

Successful grantees are required to pay for their expenses themselves in advance and get the reimbursement at the Convention Reception on October 12, 2019.
If the first choice of grant is not available, grantees might be offered a different grant option, depending on availablity of funds.

VietTESOL International Convention 2018 Pre-convention workshops are now open for registration. These five workshops are conducted by the Convention's keynote speakers from the U.S., the U.K., and Australia. Registrations will be accepted based on a first comes, first served basis and the payment registration fee prior to September 30, 2018 is required to be officially accepted.
